This Ibanez RG is now 30 years old, can you believe it?

Got it in an exchange, all original (before I forget, the tremolo arm IS INCLUDED), and in great shape. I didn't had to do a thing except to put some WD40 on the pots because they were a bit noisy, install Ernie Ball Super Light 9/42s, and lower the action as I like it, low. And I mean low!

Vintage Ibanez, specially in such a good shape rarely disappoint, these are great guitars. There is a big probability it was made at the Cort factory according to what I have found on internet, but it doesn't really matter, that Golden Era gave the world really awesome guitars. I own a few myself.

The INF neck pickup is quite dark in my opinion, but the INF bridge neck is actually very good! Everyone seems to say the original tremolo is not good, so last Sunday I cut a wood block and set the back springs loose to relieve the tension, and now it works as a fixed bridge. Some guys say the Gotoh GE1996T is a direct swap if you prefer a tremolo that really works on it.

That said, it's not pristine condition; there's this hit at the bottom on which I've inserted a little bit of wood glue, and 2 or 3 small bumps that didn't chip the finish, but overall it looks great for a 30 year old guitar. At the end of the gallery there are some ideas of what you could do as a project, if you're a fan of Paul Gilbert, or if you like swirl finishes.
